The Narva-Ivangorod border crossing is open to pedestrians only (vehicles are not allowed through this crossing).

Many bus routes transfer at the border, and passengers proceed through security on foot.

Hours

Daily 7:00 AM–11:00 PM (Estonian time). The crossing is closed at night.

On the Russian side, official information indicates hours from 8:00 AM–8:00 PM—this may be in Russian (Moscow) time. For guests, it's more convenient to use the 7:00 AM–11:00 PM Estonian time schedule.

How long does it take to cross?

The time varies greatly depending on the season and day of the week. During peak periods, queues can be very long—in late December 2025, it was reported that the wait in Narva could stretch to approximately 12 hours.

Tips for guests:

arrive early in the morning;

If possible, avoid Fridays, Sundays, and holidays;

Allow extra time if you have a train, bus, or plane.
