Kids Training Examples (Futsal): Ready-to-use Sessions + Videos

Below are 3 simple training templates by age group. They work well in an indoor hall or on half a futsal court. At the end you’ll find video ideas with exercises and small-sided games.

Key rules for kids sessions
  • More play: 60–70% of the time in game formats (2v2/3v3/4v4).
  • Short blocks: 6–10 minutes per activity, then rotate.
  • No long lines: split into 2–3 stations, use more balls.
  • One clear focus per session: first touch / passing / 1v1 / finishing.

Session 1 (U6–U8) — Ball mastery + fun games (60 min)

Goal: coordination, dribbling, first touch, confidence in 1v1.

1) Warm-up “ball is my friend” (10 min)

  • Everyone with a ball inside a 15×15 square. Change direction on the coach’s signal.
  • Cues: “stop with sole”, “turn”, “switch foot”, “accelerate for 3 steps”.

2) Coordination + dribbling (10 min)

  • “Traffic lights”: green = dribble, yellow = small touches, red = stop the ball.
  • Add 2 taggers without a ball: they try to touch a shoulder (dribblers protect the ball).

3) 1v1 “channels” (12 min)

  • Make 4–6 channels (about 8×12 m). Attacker scores by dribbling over the line or into mini-goals.
  • Switch roles every 30–40 seconds for lots of repetitions.

4) Game 3v3 (20 min)

  • Run 2–3 small fields at the same time. Rule: goals count after a positive action (beat a player / burst).
Coaching tip: praise the attempt. Mistakes are part of learning — the key is the number of actions.

Session 2 (U9–U11) — Passing, movement, triangles (70 min)

Goal: pass quality, movement to receive, first touch “towards play”.

1) Pair passing warm-up (10 min)

  • Inside-foot pass, receive “on the move” for 1–2 steps.
  • Challenge: 20 accurate passes in a row (count out loud).

2) Triangles: pass → move (12 min)

  • Groups of 3–4, triangle 8–10 m. After passing, change position.
  • Progression: 2 touches (receive + pass), then 1 touch when possible.

3) Rondo 3v1 / 4v1 (12 min)

  • Square 8×8 or 10×10. Count passes, rotate defender every 30–45 seconds.
  • Focus: spacing and receiving so you can see the next pass.

4) Game 4v4 with a task (25 min)

  • Goal counts after 3 passes in a row or after a wall pass (give-and-go).
  • Coach cue: “wide — middle — wide” (switch sides).
Mini rule: “pass — then open up again”. It improves structure fast.

Session 3 (U12–U14) — Transitions & decision-making (75 min)

Goal: fast decisions, 2-second counter-press, attacking after regains.

1) Warm-up: scanning + receiving (10 min)

  • Before receiving, players must check their shoulder (coach cue: “scan!”).
  • Receive into space and pass with pace.

2) 2v1 / 3v2 (15 min)

  • Set up 12×18 m areas. Quick attacks: “pass at the right time, finish at the right time”.
  • Progression: after finishing, reset quickly and attack again with the next group.

3) Transition rule: “loss → 2 seconds pressure” (15 min)

  • Play 4v4 on half-court. After losing the ball, the team must press for 2 seconds.
  • If you can’t win it back — protect the middle and recover into a block.

4) Game 4v4 / 5v5 (25 min)

  • Bonus goal: score within 6 seconds after a regain = +1.
  • Discuss only 1–2 moments: “why we recovered / why we didn’t”.
Timing targets for older kids: 6 seconds to attack after a regain and 2 seconds to counter-press after a loss.
